UP A ¡REVOLUCIÓN!" |

LATIN
HORROR (LH) is the first
English-language website
dedicated to the genre of
Latin horror and features
the leading
Latin/Spanish/International
"dark creative
expressionists" working in
film, theater, music,
photography, illustration,
graphic novels, "dark art"
novelas, comic books,
literature, and games—from
the seasoned masters—to the
up-and-coming Latin
horrorphile whose work is
grounded in horror, the
macabre, and gothic arts.

LATIN
HORROR was founded in early
2008 by filmmaker/curator Edwin Pagán, and
officially launched in the
fall on Halloween as an online
niche market website
specializing in
Latin-influenced horror, its
documentation, and promotion
as a distinct and valid genre.
OUR CORE BELIEF:
LATIN HORROR was created to
fill the void for the millions
of horrorphiles of Latin
horror, as well as the "Dark
Creative Expressionist"
working in the genre, whose
lifestyle and work is grounded
in horror, the macabre, and
Gothic arts. LATIN HORROR was
the first to put the focus on
Latin horror as a distinct
genre and has been at the
forefront of the revolución
of having it recognized as
such throughout the industry,
while also creating a new
niche market.
In
short, LATIN HORROR is the
innovator in the Latin
horror space and "The
Official Home of Latin
Horrorphiles Everywhere."

| ON THE
HORRIZON / DIRECTOR'S SINEMA
SPOTLIGHT -
On
The Horrizon (OTH) is a
review-style feature that brings
crucial independent films before
they reach the multiplex cinema
or local indie arthouse. A
unique component of OTH is the
fact that we not only cover the
established auteur, but also the
up-and-coming, emerging
filmmaker - especially during
the formative years of their
development. The film work
covered includes trailers and
teasers, film festival cuts, and
final, locked versions of the
work. In some cases—when a
particular work catches our
fancy—we keep you up-to-date on
the project as it develops from
script-to-screen, further
documenting not only the film's
development but also that of the
filmmaker as an artist.
Director's
SINema Spotlight (DSS) was
inaugurated on July 2, 2009. DSS
primarily features the work of
an emerging filmmaker working in
horror who's demonstrated a
consistent degree of creative
vision and is already leaving
his/her personal imprint on the
medium and genre. The body work
(a mix of shorts and/or feature)
is featured in an exclusive retrospectare
that celebrates their formative
work (as apposed to a review of
their lifetime's work). Among
the filmmakers whose work has
been showcased in Director's
SINema Spotlight banner are Rodrigo Gudiño (Toronto)
and Jose
Zambranco Cassella (Florida).
