Fede Alvarez Resurrects the Alien Franchise with the ‘Alien: Romulus’ Teaser Trailer

0

20th Century Studios just dropped ‘Alien: Romulus’ teaser trailer. This time around horror maestro Fede Alvarez (Evil Dead, Don’t Breathe) takes a bite into rebooting the Ridley Scott Alien franchise.

Alvarez is both director and writer of this space horror. The trailer revolves around space colonizers scavenging an isolated space station. In which they encounter the most terrifying creatures in the universe, the Xenomorph.

Fede Alvarez’sAlien: Romulus’ is being billed as a film going back to the roots of the Alien franchise. This teaser trailer is a perfect example that movie is respecting the franchise beginnings. The first half of the trailer shows empty silent corridors with gradually increase voices of the crew being terrorized. That atmospheric space horror that Ridley Scott’s Alien (1979) is so well known for. The second half of the teaser is reminiscent to James Cameron’s Aliens (1986), in which we see in a fast action pace the crew being hunted down by several Xenomorphs. The teaser trailer looks great and exciting. Can’t wait to see  it!

Alien: Romulus’ will be premier in theaters on August 16th, 2024.
