Animated ‘CREEPSHOW’ Halloween special coming to SHUDDER +

0

Latin Horror The little horror channel that could, SHUDDER, having just reached a million subscribers, made a surprise announcement today that a @CreepshowTv animated special will premiere on their shingle on October 26. The special features two segments based on short stories by Stephen King and his son Joe Hill, will be directed by Greg Nicotero (The Walking Dead, Creepshow), and voice-starred by Kiefer Sutherland & Joey King!

Before you get confused (and begin counting your digits), this is a stand-alone value-added gold nugget. Season 2 of the Creepshow TV series, whose production got bogged down as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, is still coming in 2021. Consider the October 26th special as an appetizer before the main course, as well as another gem in The Creep’s (aka “Raoul”) jewel chest.

The first segment, “Survivor Types,” based on a short story by Stephen King, stars Sutherland as a man marooned on a deserted island struggling to stay alive. Story two, “Twittering from the Circus of the Dead,” penned by Hill, stars Joey King as a teenager on a family road trip that turns sinister.

Halloween wouldn’t be complete without Creepshow, so with the help of the father and son team of Stephen & Joe as well as a fantastic animated format, we get to continue the tradition and spirit of Halloween,” said Greg Nicotero.

“Although season 2, now in production, has been delayed due to Covid, Greg and his team were still able to pull off this fantastic special so everyone will be able to enjoy a little bit of Creepshow during Halloween season,” said Craig Engler, Shudder’s General Manager.

SHUDDER also threw down the gauntlet this year with a full 61 Days of Halloween celebration, which began September 1st. The two month horror-tinged programming includes both streaming exclusives and original content. The bloody good show continues in October with:
