Chris Rock & Samuel L. Jackson Team Up against Jigsaw in the ‘Spiral’ Rated R Trailer

From the Book of Saw, Detective Ezekiel “Zeke” Banks, Chris Rock, enlist his father, Marcus played by Samuel L. Jackson to tear the city apart to look for the notorious serial killer Jigsaw. Lionsgate just dropped a Rated R version of the new trailer for the Saw franchishe ‘Spiral‘.

My first thought is that I’m loving all the new interpretation of the classic Pighead and Billy the Puppet. Pighead’s first appearance made me jump out of my seat. This has more of feel of a serious crime drama like the original than the campy sequels from the series. I’m actually now very excited to see this Chris Rock excutive produced film.

Spiral also stars Max Minghella (The Handmaid’s Tale) and Marisol Nichols (Riverdale, 24). The film is directed by Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II, Mother’s Day) and penned by Josh Stolberg & Pete Goldfinger. The original Saw producing team is back, Oren Koules and Mark BurgSpiral is due out on May 14, 2021.

SYNOPSIS: A criminal mastermind unleashes a twisted form of justice in Spiral, the terrifying new chapter from the book of Saw. Working in the shadow of his father, an esteemed police veteran (Samuel L. Jackson), brash Detective Ezekiel “Zeke” Banks (Chris Rock) and his rookie partner (Max Minghella) take charge of a grisly investigation into murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city’s gruesome past. Unwittingly entrapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the center of the killer’s morbid game.
