ON THE HORRIZON:
'DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK'
Troy Nixey steps out from his mentor's shadow with solid remake

A young girl sent to live with her father and his new girlfriend discovers creatures in her new home who want to claim her as one of their own.

Back in May 2010 when we broke the exclusive on the keyart for Julia's Eyes Director Troy Nixey(thanks to a little help from a friend) , we also reported that legendary Latin horror director Guillermo Del Toro was busy applying his golden touch to a slew of projects that would be helmed by emerging talent that had caught his own very perceptive eye. One of those figures was comic book artist/creator Troy Nixey. Now the first-time director gets a chance to step out on his own, albeit with the Godfather peering over his shoulder as both producer/co-writer and mentor with the remake of the 1973 ABC made-for-TV original film DON'T BE AFRAID O F THE DARK, a beloved classic among horror lovers. DBAOTD stars Katie Holmes, Guy Pearce, and Bailee Madison.
