(thanks to a little help from a friend) , we also reported that legendary Latin horror director Guillermo Del Toro was busy applying his golden touch to a slew of projects that would be helmed by emerging talent that had caught his own very perceptive eye. One of those figures was comic book artist/creator Troy Nixey. Now the first-time director gets a chance to step out on his own, albeit with the Godfather peering over his shoulder as both producer/co-writer and mentor with the remake of the 1973 ABC made-for-TV original film DON'T BE AFRAID O F THE DARK, a beloved classic among horror lovers. DBAOTD stars Katie Holmes, Guy Pearce, and Bailee Madison.
