| ON THE HORRIZON: 'MADISON COUNTY' |
| Eric England's latest feature cuts the bacon the old-fashioned way. |
![]() |

A group of college kids travel to a small, mountain town called Madison County to interview the author of a tell-all book on the accounts of several grisly murders that happened there. But when the kids get to Madison County, the author is no where to be found and the towns people act like they haven't seen him in years. They also say that the killer never existed and the murders never happened. However, when the kids start digging around to get their own answers, they find out that the stories maybe more real than the townspeople are letting on!

Here is the exciting new trailer for Eric England's new horror, mystery, thriller MADISON COUNTY (not the one with the bridges), starring Ace Marrero, Colley Bailey, Adrienne Harrell, Matt Mercer, Nick Principe, Joanna Sotomura, and Natalie Scheetz.
Madison County is another prime example of what a creative team of 'hungry' filmmakers can accomplish on a shoe-string budget. Referring to themselves as "filmmakers for today's economy," the film was produced for under $80,000. Taking full advantage of their resources, and judging from the trailer, Madison appears to be a well-crafted film that is reminiscent of the of horror films I feverishly fed on growing up -- you know, the kind that actually were chock-full of frightful scares. Looks promising.

Special effects make-up work was handled by Almost Human, Inc. ("Paranormal Activity 2," "Devil"), and alert fans may have recently caught a glimpse of killer Damien Ewell's face on Late Night with Carson Daly, along with creature designer Robert Hall (of Almost Human).
Writer/director Eric England, producer Daniel F. Dunn, and actor/producer Ace Marrero all met in 2008 on England's thesis film, and in 2009 went on to produce his first feature film, "Hostile Encounter," which led to acquiring financing for Madison. England, Marrero, and Dunn are currently preparing for an April shoot on their next feature film, "ROADSIDE." That project will find England and Marrero teamed up once again (as writer/director and starring actor, respectively).
Could Madison County become the next cult franchise? Only time will tell, but these filmmakers -- with an average age of 25 -- are betting (and biting) on it.
