Joseph D. Peters covers the horror scene in South and Central America via his LATIN HORROR column 'HORROR DOWN SOUTH.'

Joseph D. Peters was born in Montebello, California. His father of German descent and his mother from Bogotá, Colombia introduced him to the arts at an early age. He performed in the musicals of West Side Story and Godspell at La Salle High School. He attended the University of Southern California and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. He formed Renaissance Productions, Ltd. and began his career with a music video, “Mas Que Nada”. He followed that with his documentary, “Seniors and Alcohol Abuse” which was the official selection of the American Film Festival. “Eskimo Ice-Cream Shoes” received the Gold Award at the Houston Film Festival. “Rachel” won the Silver Award at the Chicago Intercom Film Festival and the Bronze Award at the International Cindy Competition. “Emotions” received the Gold Award at the International Cindy Competition and an Honorable Mention Award at the Columbus International Film Festival.

He has recently completed a drama, “When Autumn Comes” that was shot entirely in North Carolina.

Joseph has recently written several screenplays for the Hispanic market including “Hidden Tracks”, “Tango in the Dark”, “A Silence Within”, “Shadow of the Werewolf”, “Blood on the Streets”, “Silent Storms” and “Tango Rendezvous”. Joseph can be contacted through his website www.josephdpeters.com.

Many of his influences come from such television shows as “One Step Beyond”, Rod Serling’s “The Twilight Zone”, and Irwin Allen’s The Time Tunnel”. In the world of cinema, Joseph loves films that take him into another world. He enjoys watching everything from Universal’s “The Wolfman” with Lon Chaney Jr., Hammer’s “Dracula” with Christopher Lee, “The Dead Zone” with Christopher Walken, and “The Orphanage” produced by Guillermo de Toro.

In his spare time, Joseph likes to read film books, attend trade shows, collect DVD’s for his collection, and go to sporting events with his wife.
