For the last few years Vampires have ruled the airwaves and become ubiquitous on American cable TV. Now another sector of the walking dead is set to parade across your 60-inch flat screen TVs (you should be so lucky) - ZOMBIES.The Walking Dead Poster

The season pilot of THE WALKING DEAD, an AMC original series based on the popular comic book of the same written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics, premieres on Halloween night -- for the macabre deficient, that's October 31st. The series is created by Frank Darabont who's brought us such memorable mainstream films as The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile.

Each of the six, one-hour episodes for The Walking Dead will be directed by a varied mix of helmers that include Ernest Dickerson (Dexter/The Vampire Diaries), Guy Ferland (Sons of Anarchy/The Forgotten), Johan Renck (Breaking Bad/Alien Autopsy), and Darabont himself. And I'm glad to see that the ladies got to play as well with Michelle Maxwell MacLaren (X-Files/Night Stalker), and Gwyneth Horder-Payton (Numb3rs/Criminal Minds), each wo-manning an episode.

Want to keep abreast of all the Zombies & victims on the series? Yes, there's an app for that.
