Teaser trailer for Leroy Kincaide’s ‘The Last Rite’

A medical student suffering from sleep paralysis finds herself plagued by a demonic entity, after moving in with her boyfriend.

The teaser trailer for actor-turned-writer/director Leroy Kincaide’s “authentic” possession film The Last Rite has dropped and it is a spine chiller! The film marks Kincaide’s directorial debut, and his first feature will make its world premiere as part of FIRST BLOOD STRAND at this year’s Arrow Video FrightFest (dubbed by Guillermo del Toro as “the Woodstock of Gore”), taking place from August 26th-30th at Cineworld Leicester Square in the UK. Based on real-life experiences with the paranormal, The Last Rite follows Lucy (Bethan Waller), a medical student suffering from sleep paralysis finds herself plagued by a demonic entity, after moving in with her boyfriend. Torn between sanity and the unknown, Lucy seeks help from a local priest that is forced to make a deathly choice. With time ticking against the clock, will Lucy escape the dark force consuming her from inside?

From a statement by UK-based filmmaker Leroy Kincaide: “I’m absolutely thrilled that my film is part of FrightFest and that It gets its world premiere in front of the best horror crowd in the country. I hope it connects with them. The inspiration for the film came from my own experiences of sleep paralysis and paranormal experiences as a child, plus I drew from my passion of horror movies from the 80s and 90s.”

The cast features Bethan Waller, Johnny Fleming, Kit Smith, Tara Hoyos–Martinez, and Ian Macnaughton.
