In 2013, inspired by the Star Trek episode, ‘The Return of the Archons‘, director James DeMonaco released the dystopian/action/horror film ‘The Purge‘. The film spawned a franchise made up of three sequels (The Purge: Anarchy, The Purge: Election Year, The First Purge) and a twenty-episode TV series (The Purge). One of its achievement is at the box-office with a combine production budged of $35 million, the franchise has made $450 million. Today marks the steps towards the end of the franchise as Universal Pictures released the trailer for ‘The Forever Purge‘, the fifth and final installment.
This time around a masked gang of killers attacks two families in a country setting. A bloodlust gang ready to break all the rules to instill a ‘The Forever Purge‘. The film will stars Mexican actress Ana de la Reguera, Mexican actor Tenoch Huerta, Josh Lucas, Cassidy Freeman, Leven Rambin, Mexican-American Alejandro Edda and Will Patton. The movie is produced by Platinum Dunes, Blumhouse Productions, Man in a Tree Productions, and Perfect World Pictures. The directing duties fall on Mexican director Everardo Gout (Days of Grace). But the man who started the franchise will end it as James DeMonaco is back as a writer and co-producer.
The Forever Purge premiers in theaters July 2nd, 2021.
