NETFLIX is playing a game of ‘RESIDENT EVIL’ the TV Series

Capcom just dropped the long awaited and already critical acclaimed, “Resident Evil 2″, the 1998 remake of the classic video game. Where we were introduced to fan favorite, rookie police officer, Leon S. Kennedy and zombie outbreak survivor turned vigilante, Claire Redfield. But in other news, word spread like the Tyrant Virus of Netfilx,

“developing a scripted series based on the hit action horror franchise” – Deadline

Netflix is currently looking for a showrunner for the series. The studio that is partnering up with the streaming giant is Constantin Film. The company is responsible for the six feature films of the “Resident Evil” franchise, starring Milla Jovovich.

As far as the story elements of the TV series, Deadline added,

“I hear the plan is for the series to expand the Resident Evil universe and deepen the exiting mythology. I hear the series will keep the basic premise, which also served as a setup for the movie franchise. The drama series will explore the dark inner workings of the Umbrella Corporation and the new world order caused by the outbreak of the T-virus. While the project is in early stages, the series is expected to incorporate all of Resident Evil’s signature elements, including action sequences and Easter eggs.” – Deadline

It is also known that Constantin Film hired Johannes Roberts (The Strangers: Prey at Night, 47 Meters Down) to write and direct the reboot of “Resident Evil”.

As more information comes into Latin Horror, we will keep you posted. Now back to playing, “Resident Evil 2″!!!
