Netflix just dropped a teaser trailer, poster and announced the dates for the upcoming trilogy for “Fear Street”. Based on a  the very popular 1989 horror book series by author R. L. Stine of the same name, Netflix has made the Fear Street Trilogy into a summer event, 3 horror flicks in 3 weeks!!! The trilogy kicks-off on July 2nd with FEAR STREET PART 1: 1994, followed by FEAR STREET PART 2: 1978 on July 9th, and concluding with FEAR STREET PART 3: 1666 on July 16th.

“a lot more thrills – and a lot more terror!” – R. L. Stine

The trilogy will follow a group of teenagers that “discovers that the terrifying events that have haunted their town for generations may all be connected — and that they may be the next targets.” For those that are unfamiliar with Fear Street, think Goosebumps but Netflix’s version maybe bloody do to its rating. Adding to the excitement of the films is that all three movies are RATED R!!! Originally the book series was written for a teenage, young adult audience but it seems that Netflix wants the entire horror fan base. Author R. L. Stine said, “the movies are rated R. That means a lot more thrills – and a lot more terror!

“I can’t wait to welcome everyone into the world of Fear Street” – Leigh Janiak

Directing the entire film series is Leigh Janiak, who is known for the brilliant debut film Honeymoon (2014). According to the director the trilogy were all filmed back to back, “We filmed all three Fear Street movies over one crazy, bloody summer”. With excitement Leigh went on to say, “It’s a dream that audiences now get to experience the story in the same way – back to back to back, with only a week of waiting in between.
