Apple TV Plus released the trailer to the forthcoming horror miniseries LISEY’S STORY that will stream on the service beginning June 4, 2021.

Lisey’s Story is based on the acclaimed novel of the same name written by horror meister Stephen King (his 54th) that was published in 2006. The novela combines elements of a psychological horror and romance, and the premise pivots around Lisey Landon, the widow of successful novelist, Scott Landon. The book spans two story threads: Lisey’s current day story, and that of her deceased husband’s life via her personal recollections of him and the secrets she begins to uncover as she clears out his writing quarters as a means of gaining closure.

Given how tight King’s novels are, it’s very safe to say the series will remain true to the source material, especially since King also scripted the TV adaptation himslef!

The 8 episode series is helmed by Chilean national Pablo Larraín, who is best known for his chops on episodic TV including Fugitives (2011-2013), El Presidente (2020),  and the drama/biopic, Jackie (2016). Not too shabby. Did we mention that Larraín hails from J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot production shingle? Or that Abrams is an executive producer on the project? So there’s that…

Aside from how deep we imagine the story will run given the long-form canvas, the A-list cast also provides the promise of a moody/broody and robust horror mind-f*ck: Julianne Moore, Clive Owen, Joan Allen, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Ron Cephas Jones, Dane DeHaan, and Sung Kang, among others.

We’re definitely looking forward to this series and already getting the chills! Peep the eerie trailer below after the short jump…
