“A nice small town with lots of kids to play with and where there are portals to other dimensions and where ancient spirits come to life”
Mexican folklore is coming to the Cartoon Network. Four episodes of ‘Victor and Valentino’ will air March 30 at 9:30 am (ET/PT) in the United States and Latin America. The series will make its world wide premier later on this year.
The show started as college thesis called ‘High Noon in Mexico’. Many years later, show creator Diego Molano (Adult Swim’s Black Dynamite) revisited the idea to present as a pitch to the Cartoon Network.
Diego Molano was named by Variety as one of the 10 Animators to watch in 2018 because of his work on the ‘Adult Swim’s Black Dynamite’ (2011), ‘The Powerpuff Girls’ (2016) and ‘OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes‘ (2017). According to Variety, Molano,
“has always been inspired by the great myths of the world, but his favorites are about pre-Hispanic indigenous people such as the Aztecs, Olmecs and Mayans.”
The series will be available On Demand on March 4th and if you have the Cartoon Network App ‘Victor and Valentino‘ will be available with an unlocked first episode. Don’t forget that the show debut is March 30th at 9:30 am (ET/PT) on the Cartoon Network. All 8 episodes will also be available in English and Spanish.
