IFC Films, Shudder, and Zygote Pictures released the trailer for ‘In A Violent Nature’. A unique first person perspective of the slasher genre. Where throughout the film the audience follows the killer. Just imagine you follow Jason Voorhees of the ‘Friday the 13th” franchise throughout the movie.
‘In A Violent Nature’ our killer is Johnny (Ry Barrett), “a vengeful spirit spurred on by a horrific 60-year old crime.” Johnny is waken up by a bunch of teens that take a locket from a “collapsed fire tower” in the woods. Which causes Johnny to go on a bloody rampage.
The trailer for ‘In A Violent Nature’ will make a slasher fan salivate as it feels very nostalgic to those 80’s horror films, yet still feel new with that first person perspective. The flick is being dubbed as a “ambient slasher”.
The film is written and directed by Chris Nash (ABCs of Death 2, Lifechanger and The Void), who has stated that he was inspired by the “style from the Gus Van Sant-directed films Gerry (2002), Elephant (2003) and Last Days (2005).” As well as the work of “director Terrence Malick.” ‘In A Violent Nature’ will be Nash’s debut feature film.
‘In A Violent Nature’ will premiere in Theaters on May 31, 2024.
