You might consider skipping this movie if you have heart trouble.— Stephen King (@StephenKing) February 7, 2019
Synopsis: Based on the seminal horror novel by Stephen King, Pet Sematary follows Dr. Louis Creed (Jason Clarke), who, after relocating with his wife Rachel (Amy Seimetz) and their two young children from Boston to rural Maine, discovers a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near the family’s new home. When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his unusual neighbor, Jud Crandall (John Lithgow), setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unfathomable evil with horrific consequences.
Spoiler Alert: As you can see from the trailer it is not Gage (Hugo Lavoie) that comes back, it’s his older sister Ellie (Jeté Laurence). What terrified me about the original was watching Gage, the evil toddler killing people.
It is an image that has stuck with me since 1989. I’m sure that the directors are going to ramp up the horror with Ellie, since you can do more with an older child actor. Judging from the trailer, which is done well and damn them for giving up so much of the story, I will definitely be seeing this in the theaters.
Pet Sematary will be in theaters on April 5th, 2019.
