Searchlight Pictures just dropped the moody and stylized trailer for Guillermo del Toro‘s highly anticipated next film Nightmare Alley. The movie is a remake of the 1947 film of the same name (starring romantic leading man Tyrone Power) and is based on a book by American novelist William Lindsay Gresham. The films goes into wide release on December 17th.
Nightmare Alley packs a star-studded cast, including many of his ensemble go-to players: Bradley Cooper, Cate Blanchett, Willem Dafoe, Toni Collette, Richard Jenkins, Ron Perlman, Rooney Mara, Holt McCallany, Clifton Collins Jr., Tim Blake Nelson, Mary Steenburgen,
and David Strathairn.
Del Toro has made it clear that the film is not you might expect from him but rather a “classic film noir than a horror movie.” We’re excited to see him roll in this genre! Peep the trailer —
