LatinHorror.com got invited to the ARMY OF THE DEAD Exclusive Trailer Premiere Event with director Zack Snyder and moderated by Grae Drake.
First of all, Netflix and Zack Snyder’s ARMY OF THE DEAD trailer is ACTION PACKED and AMAZING! The cast, the FX, all of it looks great. I’m defiantly hyped to see ARMY OF THE DEAD now. The trailer is driven by a rendition of Kenny Rogers’ The Gambler, which sets the tone of Scott Ward (Dave Bautista) high-stake path into the zombie apocalypse. In which we see Scott put together a team and an explosive plan to break into a casino vault for two hundred million dollars. What’s suppose to be a “simple in and out’ becomes an action packed zombie flick. What distinguishes these zombies are that they are organized by a Zombie Queen & King and they have a Zombie Tiger!!!
In the hour event Snyder talked about Zombie Tigers, shooting in Las Vegas and Mexico, working with Netflix and the buckets of blood. But what stuck out the most for us is that Snyder is world building ARMY OF THE DEAD. Snyder mentioned two more projects. One is called “Army of Thieves“, it’s a backstory for one of the characters. Army of Thieves deals with the type of safe they need to break into in Las Vegas, that leads to one of the bank robbers to be recruited for his specialty of breaking into vaults. That flick is directed by Matthias Schweighöfer and he himself plays the lead role of Ludwig Dieter, The Safecracker.
“We see his backstory on how he fell in love with, how he got obsessed with cracking safes and why the safe in the movie is significant to him.” – Zack Snyder
The other project is “Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas“, an animation prequel dealing with the mythology of the world and gives the viewers the reasons why there is a zombie outbreak. The prequel is also the back story of Scott Ward played by Dave Bautista.
“Which tells the story of where the zombies came from and what their deal is. And goes to Area 51, and does a whole bunch of psychedelic craziness, which is cool also. Let’s just say it scales to a way that is unexpected as far as where the zombies come from.” – Zack Snyder
ARMY OF THE DEAD will be in selected Theaters May 14 and on Netflix May 21.
