Warner Bros. released the Official trailer for ‘The Curse of La Llorona‘. After a troublesome start with a controversial teaser trailer that revolved around lead actress, Linda Cardellini, who is Irish-Italian, playing a Latina character with the name Anna Garcia. Twitter and social media went off on fire with accusation of Hollywood whitewashing and stripping Mexican folklore.

I’m so fucking mad about all this like… this is one thing you don’t fuck with.. MEXICAN FOLKLORE. This shit is fucking ours. Latinx who know it are allowed to say our fucking legends NO ONE FUCKING ELSE. I’m so mad lmfao like why whitewash La Llorona to fit The conjuring series

I’m so mad about La Llorona… it’s insulting not only to reduce such a defining story in Latino culture to another Conjuring movie, but to also whitewash the cast and NOT EVEN PRONOUNCE THE NAME RIGHT
