After months of delays and extremely short teases the ‘Godzilla vs. Kong‘ trailer is finally here!!!

Since the launch of the MonsterVerse back in 2014 with the American version of Godzilla by Legendary Pictures, Kaiju fans have been taken through a glorious adventure of epic portions that include both Kong: Skull Island (2017) and Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019). Even the two websites (monarchsciences.com and monarchsciences.net) that revolves around the fictional secretive research team Monarch has captivated fans with mythology, a timeline and an introduction to new giant monsters. Also the graphic novel GODZILLA AFTERSHOCK and Comic Books SKULL ISLAND: THE BIRTH OF KONG which both enriches the backstory of Godzilla and Kong.

Let them fight.
– Dr. Ishiro Serizawa played by Ken Watanabe in Godzilla (2014)

In 2015 Legendary Pictures announced the upcoming battle between the two giants. But to many fans the excitement came to the MonsterVerse when a post-credits scene in Kong: Skull Island confirmed that our lovable ape, Kong, was really a part of the same universe as the giant lizard, Godzilla! Like many Godzilla and Kong fans the first thing that came to my mind was a flashback of watching the 1962 Toho film, King Kong vs. Godzilla. Just the thought of bringing the two monsters together was mind-blowing and another reason to breakout and blow the dust off all the old Godzilla Bandai figures to do battle once again. And to the young fans: we know you’re playing with those PlayMates toys.

I do want there to be a winner. The original film was very fun, but you feel a little let down that the movie doesn’t take a definitive stance. People are still debating now who won in that original movie, you know. So, I do want people to walk away from this film feeling like, Okay, there is a winner.
– Adam Wingard
I always felt that Godzilla got cheated in King Kong vs. Godzilla. Yes. Godzilla lost to Kong so I expect revenge! This time around, Horror director Adam Wingard, who is known for You’re Next and The Guest, is taking the helm of Godzilla vs. Kong. Coming back to the franchise is Millie Bobby Brown and Kyle Chandler, who are reprising their roles from Godzilla: King of the Monsters. They will be joining the new leads Alexander Skarsgård (The Stand, True Blood), Rebecca Hall (The Town, The Awakening), Brian Tyree Henry (Child’s Play, Joker) and the Mexican actress and singer Eiza González (From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series, Alita: Battle Angel, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw).

Godzilla vs. Kong will be premiering simultaneously in Theaters (2D, 3D, IMAX) and HBO MAX on March 26th, 2021. Check Out the Trailer, Synopsis and Poster below. As always, let Latin Horror know what you think?
