Earlier this year, a partnership was formed between Horror Inc. and Friday the 13th LLC to create the Jason Universe, an umbrella brand that will bring fans movies, shorts, TV series, video games, and other Jason content. Sheri Conn, CMO of Horror Inc., said, “As we started to look at impactful ways to introduce Jason Universe to consumers, we knew that our strongest path forward would be with Striker Entertainment and their proven pedigree in the consumer products space.”

In 2026, look out for ‘Crystal Lake‘, a prequel series featuring Linda Cardellini as Pamela Voorhees—the deadly, scorned mother who started the Friday the 13th franchise in the 1980’s.

To launch the Jason Universe, the company released ‘Sweet Revenge’ today, a short film written and directed by Mike P. Nelson (Wrong Turn 2021, Silent Night, Deadly Night 2025). The film serves as a bloody and gory reintroduction to the horror icon Jason Voorhees, now played by well-known stunt performer and coordinator Schuyler White (Haunt, V/H/S/85).

On a side note, Jason was my favorite horror icon growing up. I even got a custom-made Jason mask and, one by one, collected nearly all the signatures of the actors who played Jason Voorhees. Yeah… I’m a big Friday the 13th fan. Now I just have to get Schuyler White’s signature!

First thoughts on ‘Sweet Revenge‘: The short captures the brutality and vicious force of Jason perfectly. I love how director Mike P. Nelson pays homage to previous installments of the franchise. The score by Matt Compton and Michelangelo Rodriguez instantly puts you back in the Friday the 13th world. And that Ally Loannides‘ Final Girl twist? Had me saying WTF!!!
